Chalk Paint Link Party

Loving all the projects you linked up last week.  Here are two that really caught our attention.

First up is Anne from White Lace Cottage with her kitchen makeover using Chalk Paint™ Anne chose to use Pure White to have a little bit of contrast between the walls and her cabinets.  Kitchens are work, but such an amazing transformation and Anne did an excellent job!

Next is Mrs. V (Susie) from The Humble Nest.  Check out her updated nesting tables with vintage labels as her inspiration.  Be sure to take a peak at how she achieved the look using Primer Red, Country Grey, Emperor's Silk, and Aubusson Blue. Love the vintage look!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

Suzan from Simply Vitnageous refreshed and lightened this dresser using Old White and Paris Grey. You just can't go wrong with a combination like that...and add in her touches of silver and you've got a classic, upscale look!

The Retail DIYet really gave a new life to this dresser found at a thrift store. With some easy repair work, Aubusson Blue, and fun knobs, this dresser is ready for a new home! Great transformation and upcycling!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

One of the blessings of being an Annie Sloan Retailer is the people we get to associate with on a daily basis. We want to thank all of you that came to our workshop last Saturday. We had a lot of fun even though it was snowing, Again. Only another three months of winter for us here in Colorado. We are so ready for Spring!!!!

We have a great opportunity this week to share some pieces that are very clean and beautifully done. One of the many great advantages of Chalk Paint is the versatility of the product. Most of you have seen a lot of pieces distressed, but check these pieces out.

Danielle from Silver Pennies painted this dresser and a chest in Old White and Duck Egg blue. She thought about distressing them, but I am glad she didn't.

Beautiful!

Heidi from Lily Field Furniture painted this fantastic piece in Aubusson Blue. I must say that this kind of shocked us, and in a good way. We don't normally see Annie's paint on this style of furniture. All we can say is WOW. Love It.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

It seems that the days just run together right now! As regional trainers for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, we are in the middle of training new stockist that came on board in Utah and Arizona. We are having fun, we love sharing Chalk Paint and all the wonderful techniques.

QUESTION TO ALL OF YOU:

There are so many things we have wanted to post lately, but just have not had the time. So, we wanted to pose a question to you all. What do you think of our weekly linky party? Do you enjoy it, is it worth it, and should we continue with it? Should we offer it less frequently or leave it open longer, or keep it just the way it is? We are so grateful to all of you that link up. We absolutely love it, we love seeing what everyone else is creating and doing with Chalk Paint and love sharing it with others, but just wanted some feedback from you. What are your thoughts?

Sarah from Shabby Chic Sarah is doing a wonderful job painting with Chalk Paint. We really like this beautiful shabby chic piece she finished. She made her own custom color using Aubusson Blue and Original. (Original is only available over in Europe). Love the soft distressing, fabulous job, Sarah!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

Almost one month in our new store and we are already expanding....

Yeah, we can't believe it either!!!

We have been blessed with selecting our location in

Historic Downtown Monument Colorado

It is the coolest building built in the early 1900's, and has so much charm and character.

So here starts the remodel after one month. Oh and we will be remodeling our front foyer as well. Going for the French Look!

We will share some pics when finished.

We have been waiting so impatiently to feature this hutch, it is absolutely stunning...

A picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it? Chrystal, all I can say is WOW!!!

Here is the recipe she used: a little Old White, some CoCo, and lots of distressing.

Everyone tells me (Brad) that I always use to much blue when painting furniture, I just can't help myself. Obviously Shalaine's shares my love of my favorite paint color combo.

Forget the Oreo's....Aubusson Blue and French Linen together, a new classic combination!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

We have been getting all the finishing touches put together for our store that is now open! So many of you have been asking to see what we have been up to and we promise we will be sharing photos later this week.

Thanks everyone for linking up and sharing the word about our weekly Chalk Paint linky party! We love to see what everyone is creating and doing with Chalk Paint. Even though we work with it everyday, we are still amazed at everything that can be done with paint and wax.

What caught our eye this week was seeing some of the new colors....

French Linen (above)

And CoCo. They are just gorgeous, simple and elegant!

Talk about getting your money's worth, Janet of The Empty Nest created this gorgeous makeover on this china cabinet for only $7.80 in Chalk Paint! Yes, you read correctly, her china cabinet went from dark and dated to beautiful and chic with just a little imagination and $7.80! The Aubusson Blue really sets off the CoCo nicely, don't you think? I also like the small accents of Pure White in just the right places, excellent work, Janet!

Next, check out this little beauty....Love, love, love the color combo (and her name too!) Amber from Queen of Chairs gave this vanity a whole new look using Provence, Old White, and French Linen. Great way to accentuate the character of this vanity!

Katie over at Wildwood Creek updated this dresser using Aubusson Blue. We love the simplicity of the color she chose and how it doesn't over power the beauty of the details.

The Magic of Chalk Paint

The magic of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is that it allows you to create an authentic time worn finish and aged beauty of furniture with ease. This natural patina usually occurs over time, layer after layer in antique furniture. Not Anymore! With Chalk Paint, you can easily achieve this look in one afternoon using furniture you already have. Check out this table

Another beautiful piece from Michele at Stiltskin Studios, she says

"That table is just gorgeous, I love it. Aubusson Blue in color, it was then distressed and waxed to a rich luster. It feels like VELVET! One of the easiest transformations, but boy, did it work out nicely! I can't even really take too much credit, other than having the good sense to let that gorgeous color speak for itself and highlight that curvy legged table!"

Take a close look at this detail below. In ordinary latex paint, you usually get a hard ridge where the paint sits on top of the furniture and then is chipped away (similar to your nail polish chipping off, you know that hard ridge line?). None of that here! Just a beautiful, natural authentic patina with a smooth, even finish.

This table was created with one coat of Aubusson Blue. distressed and finished with Clear Wax. The velvet feel was achieved by buffing it into a lovely sheen.
