Weekly Chalk Paint Linky Party!

Where did the last 6 months go???

Since becoming Stockist for Annie Sloan, our business has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. What a blessing this addition has been to our Custom Window Covering business.

Some of you may know that Shades of Amber all started almost 12 years ago with Amber making drapes for our new home. Two years later we went full time with our Window Treatment business and never looked back. Now, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint has taken our business to a whole new level.

With Annie's paint and our window treatments we can truly turn a house into a Home!!!

Now, on to see what you have been doing with Chalk Paint...
Someone lost their marbles

Becky from White Street Interiors spotted this beautiful Marble top chest at a Restore before it even hit the sales floor. It just needed a little Chateau Grey and some Old White accents to liven it up.

Whoever gave up this chest would kick themselves if they saw her now!

Six bucks and some Chalk Paint

Kathryn from The Dedicated House found these beauties at Goodwill and transformed them into some great accent pieces that any room would be lucky to have.

Just add a little Old White and some imagination and look at what can happen.

It's your turn now

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

This picture frame from Jennifer of The Back Porch Mercnatile is simply gorgeous. Would you believe that the ornate frame is actually plastic?! Using Provence, Primer Red, Old White and Chateau Grey, this frame is now a beautiful treasure with depth and dimension. Simply lovely, Jennifer.
Bonnie from A Wee Meenit shared her $10 find and makeover using Old White. I don't think I will ever tire of seeing beautiful transformations like this one. Excellent job, Bonnie, you really show how old cast off furniture can be repurposed and made better than new.

Cabinets and New Projects

Don't forget about our Link Party and

Coco AND French Linen
Chalk Paint Giveaway!

Now, here is what we have been working on lately.....
We are testing out colors for cabinets and having so much fun playing! The sample above was created with Chateau Grey as the base coat, then clear wax, followed by a custom tinted wax. For the tinted wax, we added Versailles and Old Ochre and a little bit of dark wax to some clear wax. Really like the depth and variations in the color!
Had fun playing with a stencil too, simply used dark wax for that.

And here is a peek of a few projects we have in the works....
Look at all the details in these two! We are very excited to get busy on these.
Hope to have the "afters" very soon...
Hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe, especially on the east coast.

We will be getting our hands covered in paint at our workshop on Saturday!
Looking forward to it!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

Welcome back to our Chalk Paint Link Party!
We have been busy lately and working on some very exciting news that we will be sharing soon.

But for now, have you heard the other exciting news? The four new Chalk Paint colors coming out in September! They are pictured here in case you missed them.

So many beautiful projects from last week!

Linda over at Studio Stuff did an amazing job updating this armoire. It started out as a blonde '80's style and now looks fresh and beautiful! Great job Linda on jumping in and painting and congratulations on the newest addition to your family!
Linda used Chateau Grey as her base coat and Old White on top.
Next up is Tricia from The Little Cottage on the Pond. Tricia painted her kitchen!
Love the two-toned look she did using Country Grey and Old White.
Tricia did an amazing job of upgrading her builder style kitchen into a custom farmhouse kitchen. Be sure to check out all the little extras she added including rebuilding her island and adding feet to her cabinets for that custom built in look.
She has also been very busy painting everything with Chalk Paint!

Chalk Paint Link Party

Welcome back to our Chalk Paint Link Party! So sorry to be absent for a week from blogland, we have been so busy filling orders, holding workshops, and painting! Hope to post some of our projects soon.

Lots of beautiful and really creative projects linked up last week, you are all so talented!

Kim over at My Domestic Bliss did a fabulous job painting with Paris Grey and accenting with Old White. Her accents on this piece really caught my eye. Kim did a great job of accentuating the details and really bringing out the beauty in this piece and updating it.
Love what Trish from Life to the "T" did with her Chalk Paint. She wanted a lime apple green, so she custom mixed her own color! So easy to do with Chalk Paint, be sure to check out her recipe using Antibes Green, Arles, and Chateau Grey.
