Goodwill + Chalk Paint = Golden Nugget!

Sometimes you just need to take a break and create something beautiful! How calming and relaxing painting is, especially when it is so simple and easy to create something wonderful.
Found a set of these candle sticks at goodwill recently.
Loved the form and the gold made a great base to work with.

Provence is such a great way to take a 5 minute mental break!

Lightly painted this with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Provence, then wiped back with a wet rag. No need to wax this one.

  2. Hi! Love the lines on this piece and it's great that you used the existing gold along with the chalk paint for this effect! I'm your new follower -- my stockist here in IL told me about your site so I had to check it out!

  5. Silly question, but why did you choose to NOT wax the beauty? Thanks in advance. :)

I wanted it to have more of a matte finish and it will not be handled a lot like a piece of furniture. So any additional distressing will just add to the character of the piece. Not a silly question at all, thanks for asking.
