Chalk Paint Link Party

We love beautiful Colorado, but hate to see this...
This is just one of many fires in our state right now.  But this one is literally in our backyard!
The above picture was taken at the Air Force Academy, which is about 2 miles from our house
Our gorgeous mountains are on fire
And getting a little too close for comfort.
Praying for all the firefighters and hundreds of families currently evacuated.
(the above pictures were from our local news station)

Thankfully, no lives or structures have been lost.  Don't know how you transition from that to our link party, but I must say it is nice to have a distraction from what we are seeing...

Kristen from Sophia's Decor is working on a gorgeous master bedroom makeover.  Here is her dresser she paint with Coco and Old White.  Everything is looking so good now, I can't wait to see the completed room!

Amanda from Girl in Pink updated this dresser with Paris Grey and Old White.  On of the amazing things about Chalk Paint is that you can't even tell that the top was laminate, it all looks the same!  Beautiful job of accenting those details, Amanda!

Chalk Paint™ Link Party

I just love this rug that Trish from Hueology painted with French Linen and Old White.  Why search for the perfect rug when you can just paint one? Fun and easy project with Chalk Paint™ Hey Trish, I think I need a vacation to come soak up some sun on the beaches with you and MJ!
Nicole from Doodles and Stitches has inspired me to break out the stencils.
Check out this dresser she completed.  Love the styling too, beautiful work!

Florence Chalk Paint™

The newest addition to Chalk Paint™ - Florence
This is inspired by the colors of the copper green mineral and semi-precious stone, malachite, and from the same family of stones as azurite and turquoise. In the 17th and 18th century it was used as a colour made with verdigris but as it is a very fugitive color turning black with time so we are not aware of how it was used on woodwork in many houses.
It is a classical color found in classical Italian furniture.

Available in Quart and 4 oz Sample Size (sample size available for pre-order)

Chalk Paint Link Party

Loving all the projects you linked up last week.  Here are two that really caught our attention.

First up is Anne from White Lace Cottage with her kitchen makeover using Chalk Paint™ Anne chose to use Pure White to have a little bit of contrast between the walls and her cabinets.  Kitchens are work, but such an amazing transformation and Anne did an excellent job!
Next is Mrs. V (Susie) from The Humble Nest.  Check out her updated nesting tables with vintage labels as her inspiration.  Be sure to take a peak at how she achieved the look using Primer Red, Country Grey, Emperor's Silk, and Aubusson Blue. Love the vintage look!

A Birthday and A Project

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend!  Our littlest one turned 6 on Saturday and we had an unusual, but lovely birthday party for her.  True to her little independent, nature loving spirit, she wanted to go fishing.  So, we had her birthday party at the lake!  It was a beautiful evening and we caught enough fish for a delicious dinner on Sunday night.  Much more enjoyable than Chuck E Cheese!

We wanted to share this little beauty with you.
This elegant display case had wonderful curves and carvings, but was just too heavy and dark.
So we lightened it with French Linen.
Distressed back to reveal the wood.
Dry brushed with a little Old White.
Clear Wax for a luscious feel and finish.
Finished the inside with Old Ochre
Here's a peak at where we started again...
 And after...
What projects have you been working on lately?
Be sure to stop by and share tomorrow at our weekly Chalk Paint Link Party.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

If I could just pause everything else in life except myself, I might actually get caught up.  Do you ever feel this way?  I do so apologize for our absence in blogging new pieces lately, I promise we have been painting them.  It just seems sometimes that life moves so darn fast and I am just trying to keep up.  Hope to post some of our recent work here soon, but in the meantime YOU all have been working on some great pieces!  Take a look below...
Anne from Vintage Goods took a boring brown trunk and turned it into a vintage beauty!  After some repair work and adding missing parts, she used Old White and after sealing it with Clear Wax, she used a liberal amount of the Dark Wax for an authentic vintage look.  It looks wonderful!
Jenine at A Bit O Whimsy took my breath away with this one!  She captured the beauty of Europe with this gorgeous verdigris finish on a dresser using Provence, Antibes Green, and Old White.  WOW!  I think I have a brass lamp just begging for a patina like this...simply stunning!
